With everything going on with COVID-19, so many celebrations are being put on hold and some are being cancelled altogether - like the graduation ceremonies for the class of 2020.  Even though there can't be a big graduation, friends and family are still thinking of creative ways to show their love and support while social distancing.  

One night, I was on Facebook when I saw a request from an amazing lady named Jade who had a friend who was graduating.  She lived hours away, but she wanted to arrange a surprise porch session as a graduation gift for her friend, Cherrelle.  I immediately contacted Jade, and we started chatting about the surprise.  Cherrelle hadn't even been able to order a cap and gown, so we found one for her from Amazon.  Jade then contacted her friends who lived in the area and arranged a drive-by parade to celebrate the big day.

Cherrelle's husband and daughter cleverly had her pose just right for me so that she could see the cars approach, and when she suddenly recognized her friends waving, her face just lit up!  She was so surprised and excited.  

After the drive-by, we did a photoshoot of her in the gorgeous hills next to her house.  Telephoto lenses allowed me to get the close up shots I wanted while still keeping to social distancing.  I was so happy I could be a part of such a sweet graduation celebration for her.  I'm sure it's going to be even more memorable to Cherrelle then it would have been had things been normal.  She has amazing friends and family to arrange something so special, especially from far away.
